We want to organise a training and staff incentive weekend within easy access of a majority of European airports.  It would be ideal to still have some warm weather and scope for outdoor activities. What would you propose?

Mallorca was chosen as it is located just a 2 – 2 ½ hour flight from Europe’s major capitals and is reinventing itself with all sorts of cutting edge facilities for organizing events.  Add to this, excellent weather conditions, a superb quality of life, large range of hotels, a rich historic and natural heritage, the island has a lot to offer.

The group arrived from all over Europe with 10 countries arriving into Palma and being transferred to the hotel.  The country divisions were the only people that knew each other so a group dinner that night in the hotel meant they got to know each across the board as the weekend started.

The next morning after breakfast the group was driven for 30 minutes to La Reserva de Galatzo to undertake some team building activities.  The natural reserve is located on the Tramuntana mountain range and set in 200.000sqm of land. There are over 30 waterfalls and many different types of animals and vegetation, so as well as the group enjoying a great team building experience, they also enjoy the natural environment very typical of Mallorca. The adventure activities consisted of archery, shooting, rock climbing, orienteering and zip wiring.  Mallorca hosts one of the longest zip wires in Europe.  The day was broken up with a bbq lunch and some drink stops to cool off in the October sunshine.  It was a great day as many of the attendees did not know each other so it meant when they went for the off site dinner the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement from the days activities and wondering which team had won first place!

Saturday was the training day and the group used the hotel meeting room facilities from 9 – 4pm.  Coffee breaks were held close by and the lunch took place on the outside terrace overlooking the pool so the group could get some fresh air and sunshine before their afternoon session. Before dinner the group had some personal free time. Some took taxis into Palma to walk around the old city, some lounged by the pool whilst others hit the hotel tennis court.

That evening the group were taken to Pacha. This is an amazing chill-out modern venue that has just opened its doors on the island of Mallorca. It is located in the area of Calviá, about 15 minutes drive away from Palma and 5 minutes drive away from Puerto Portals.   Here they had a fabulous dinner in the main restaurant before hitting the club.  Inside an area in the VIP section was reserved.  They used this as a base so they could come and go as they pleased.  There are 2 floors of music and DJ’s.

Sunday was departure day and the Event Manager from Vantage Point was there to see people off.  The group was pleased to have had an enjoyable weekend mixing training needs with some fun!  Without doubt Mallorca responds to a delivering a wide range of great hotels, good activity options and has all the advantages of delivering successful events.
