When the annual incentive went to Langkawi, it offered dealers the chance to enjoy one of the paradise islands of Malaysia. Staying at The Andaman Hotel - voted Malaysia's best 5-star resort hotel for service excellence, all selected guest rooms overlooked the turquoise waters of Datai Bay which is ringed by an ancient rain forest.

As well as offering beautiful white sandy beaches and sun drenched days, Langkawi boasted a myriad of possibilities for those who liked to enjoy something a little more adventurous. Water lovers were whisked away to Lighthouse Beach where they could safely indulge in playing on high-powered motorised water sports such as jet skis and water-skiing, whilst the beaches of Datai Bay were reserved for more relaxing activities such as sailing, windsurfing and snorkelling in crystal-clear warm waters.

For the land-lovers, the forests of Langkawi island were a delight to explore by jungle-trekking straight from the hotel. For the most adventurous of all, a unique experience called "Canopy Adventure" was available, where you 'air-trek' high up in the rainforest canopy, including a 120m aerial slide and 30m abseil passage - all in the depth of wild, tropical rainforest, and definitely not for the faint-hearted!

Other activities included a special football challenge versus the Andaman's league-topping team, for which Continental hired the Langkawi National Stadium (complete with electronic scoreboard listing teams and announcing the many goal-scorers, a full set of match officials and even a first aid team complete with rescue buggy).

Another very popular Continental-hosted event was "Cook with Shuk", where selected guests were hosted in Shuk's own beautiful country home as this renowned local chef ran a 2 hour cookery course followed by lunch consisting of the local dishes that the guests had themselves prepared.

Differentiating from the leisure evenings of a la carte dining in guests' own choice of the many award-winning Andaman and Datai resort restaurants, the evenings hosted by Continental Tyres introduced the traditions and culture of Malaysia - first with a relaxed and fun 'Malay Sarong & Dance' event and then with a formal 'Royal Malay Banquet' as a fitting finale to a destination rated in post-programme surveys as 'best to date'.

Many dealers chose to extend and travelled on to Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and even New Zealand.
